Just over a week to go

Hi Guys. Training has been going very well and I am sticking to my nutrition plan. I did however move my cheat meal day to Friday instead of Monday just to keep in line with last week. This will also give me a straight run from this Saturday to next Friday with perfect nutrition and training. This will be my last full weeks training prior to the Duathlon so I need to make every day count!!

Everytime I try to do a trial run for the Duathlon, something seems to go wrong for some reason. I was all set to go on Thursday. I mapped out a route with all the correct distances and off I went. I completed the first run in a good time and hopped on the bike. After about 2 minutes of cycling my gear cable snapped - end of race!! I am gooing to give it a shot again on Monday but I’m sure we will probably have an earthquake in Waterford that day or a terrorist attack or something which will prevent me from completing it again. So after my failed attempt on thursday morning I hit the weights instead training Legs. I didn’t do anything else that day as the legs were a little weak after training.

Friday morning I trained shoulders and back with weights and in the evening I did 5 miles fast pace run with an incline of 5 on the Treadmill. I’m not too sure but I think my Fat loss has really slowed down at the moment but I was expecting to Plateau sometime soon. I was in contact with Riann the Dietition and asked him what should I try to get around this. He said I should keep up the green tea and the amount of water that I am drinking. Also I should eat smaller portions at each meal as I am down about 9lbs and I don’t need as many calories to move less mass. He also suggested that I should increase the intensity of my weight training sessions to break through the plateau.

Saturday and Sunday I won’t be doing any training as I am working 12 hour shifts but I will be keeping my nutrition plan on track. I have detailed this plan in past posts. Thats about it for now. I am looking forward to trying the Duathlon trial run again on Monday so I will update you with how that goes in my next post. Take care and I will chat to you again soon!
