Hi, David Sheridan here and this is my first post. Through my posts I am going to be detailing the type of training I am doing, diet and nutrition with all the highs and lows that go along with both.

My training had been going great for the last two weeks, right up until last Wednesday when I got a bout of food Poisoning. That pretty much put me out of action until today. I have been using Mondays as my rest day and also as my ‘cheat’ day where I can basically put the diet aside and eat whatever I like after 6 o’ Clock in the evening, but because I couldn’t do any training for the last few days I decided to go for a run today. I’m still looking forward to my cheat meal though! (Pizza is on the way as I am writing this :0)!!).

I did a short 4 mile run this afternoon at a gentle pace just so as to ease myself back into a week long training session this week. Really enjoyed it as the weather was good and it felt great to stretch out after being layed up for the past few days!!  lol. Getting motivated for training has never been much of a problem for me. My main problem is sticking to a good food diet and I must admit get really fed up with it at times. Last week I stuck to the diet rigidly and ended up getting sick which really annoyed me, especially when I ate six times a day every day. When I got sick I didnt eat anything for 4 days which really made a mess of all my hard work!

I am meeting with the Dietition/Nutritionist on Wednesday and can’t wait! Even though I have a fair idea of what I should and shouldn’t eat I’m sure he will be able to point out where I could improve on my diet. I have always been of the impression that small frequent meals where the way to go for fat loss (six meals a day) but the overall calorie amount for my goals is where it gets a little hazy. I need to find out how to work out the daily calorie totals that I should be consuming in order to maximse fat loss but also maximise muscle gain. I am hopeful that the Dietitition/Nutritionist can help me out in this area. I will keep the blog updated the results of the meeting on Wednesday.

Well thats about it for my first post. My next post will contain a little bit more about the type of training that Rob (Personal Trainer) has outlined for me and also the type of diet that I willl be following. I really hope that, through ‘The Better Body Challenge’ and the type of results that I achieve, I will help to motivate some of you into improving your overall health and well being (and Body of course)!! Anything Worth Doing Is Never Easy!!

Oh, just wanted to say, Thank you very much to Brian and Brendan at www.FitnessSupplementsVitamins.ie for giving me the opportunity and the resources to successfully complete this challenge..

Speak to you again soon…
