  • NOW begins the life challenge!!!

    Monday June 1st 2009, 26 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, thousands of women (and men) stood ready to take on the mini marathon-for some its their first for others its an annual event. Many very good causes were represented i personally was raising money for St. Francis Hopsice but  apart from that this is my first step to a greater goal this is what my hard training with Laura also Brians & Brendans help & support has prepared me for.   • From Turtle to Panther!

    Its amazing!! Im not out of breath and it sure does make a  pleasant change, now that im settled with Laura into a regular work out routine and improved my aerobic fitness I can now run for (drum roll please) 10 mins flat!!!!(rocky music was playing in my head when i heard this good news) It’s exciting watching my body change and food choices I make help feed my body with what it needs to become leaner, stronger and faster (insert Kanye Wests song here) (read more...)

  • Begining of the final week

    Well yesterday I had my final weigh in before my marathon. I am down 2 pounds and 1% BMI!! I was happy with my results but I thought I would be down more so Laura suggested I reduce my portion size, cut out carbs completely, and drink only herbal teas, like green tea, and continue with my water intake. To help see my portion sizes she asked me to send photos of everything I eat too.  (read more...)

  • Second weigh in

    Hi all again. Well this week was quite tough for training. Between my last post and this Tuesday, training was minimal and to be honest Ill put that down to tiredness (the mind was willing the body was not). What I learned this week was that you have to force yourself and fight off fatigue, the first few mins will be tough but once you get into a good rhythm you shall succeed and you will probably end up doing an hour instead of 30 mins!   • First weigh in result…

    Well the last few days were not so good due to stress and other factors I gave into cravings and had Ice-cream on Thursday last and a chocolate muffin all to myself on Friday!! I was disgusted with myself after, I also had really weird dreams Friday night! (strange how the food you eat effects your sub conscious). (read more...)

  • Not loving the porridge

    Man oh man I’m starting to lose the love for porridge! and it’s only been few weeks!! How I would love to have corn flakes or something else more exciting than porridge :-) That’s why I look forward to lunch because I have a treat of chocolate soya yogurt with me today!! Also I’m training with Laura tomorrow. I wonder what she has up her sleeve?? (read more...)

  • And so it begins…

    Hi Emma here and this is my first entry :-) Through the blog, I’ll be explaining all my training in preparation for the women’s mini marathon in June. I’ll explain the diet plan and all my up and down days that go with this challenge. Before I started this challenge my training has consisted of walks to and from work which is about an hour and half walking and maybe the odd cycle on the bike for roughly an hour (depending on weather).
